Church Housing Trust

Church Housing Trust raises charitable funds to support Riverside ECHG’s work with homeless and vulnerable people and those in housing need.

Riverside ECHG (formerly known as English Churches Housing Group) runs a wide range of projects all over England, including hostels, projects for people with specific problems such as drug or alcohol dependency, accommodation for homeless families, mother and baby units, women’s refuges, temporary housing for ex-Service personnel, accommodation for people with learning disabilities, day centres and young people’s foyers.

What we do

Church Housing Trust raises funds for a wide variety of needs including:

  • residents’ welfare
  • therapeutic activities and outings
  • education and training
  • counselling
  • residents’ resettlement costs
  • IT and other training equipment
  • furnishing hostel accommodation and refurbishing older premises
  • volunteer costs
  • certain staff posts for which statutory monies are not available.

Our ultimate goal is to help homeless people regain their independence and resettle in the community. During the past year, we have been able to help over 3,500 people in over 80 projects.

Church Housing Trust supports some of England’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people, helping them get their lives back on track and reintegrate into mainstream society.  It is only through the generosity of our supporters that we are able to fund these activities.

Our local hostel on High Street is always grateful for donations of men's clothing/bedding/towels/duvets etc.
