It
was great to welcome three adults for baptism at St Mark’s on Sunday 21st July.
Sarah and George are members of the St Mark’s family and Ali from St Peter’s.
We believe it is the first time there have been baptisms by full immersion at St Mark’s. It was a joyful occasion as we worshipped together and reflected on God bringing us home from our wanderings into the place he has prepared for us. We thought about “being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit” (from Ephesians chapter 2, verse 22).
Sarah
was the first to be baptised by Anne and Charles, whilst the other two looked
on in eager anticipation. Ali
was next and the smile on her face after her baptism said it all. Finally,
George was baptised and came up from the water raising his arms in a gesture of
joy. He said that it had been an amazing experience.
